What is a notice of appearance in a foreclosure case?

The house I am renting was put into foreclosure two months after I moved in. I am in the state of Florida and the owner says he is going to be fighting the foreclosure and the process will take more than a year. I am keeping up with the case via the court clerk’s office on the web.

The most recent docket entry was a “Notice of Appearance” for the defendants attorney on May 7. The lis pendens was served on April 13 with a 20 notice to respond.

I want to make sure he is following through on his promise to fight the foreclosure so I dont get tossed out of my house on short notice.

YOU have no control over anything in this. If it is foreclosed on you can be given as little as 3 days to vacate. Instead of keeping up with the goings on you better start looking for housing. It WILL not take more than a year if he is at the stage of a court appearance. May 7th has passed so he has been give app. 3 months to pay up or get out so to speak.
