foreclosure deletion
Question about foreclosure deletion and getting a new loan..?
Hi. Long story made short:
I was a victim of preditory lending and the lender on my old house was unwilling to work with me. I left the house and started renting. Never got a notice I was foreclosed upon, though I do know the bank took the house and sold it on the courthouse steps.
A year later, my credit report still never showed a foreclosure, it just “120 days late”. I disputed this with the creditors and so far Equifax and TransUnion have deleted the item completely. I am still waiting to hear from Experian, but am pretty sure they will delete it too.
My question: Going forward, can I still get a home loan, or do I have to wait 3 years? If it’s not on my credit, will potential loan officers even see it? If it is not on my credit, is it technically like it never happened?
One of the questions you will be asked is have you had a property foreclosed on in the last 7 years. If you say no, you have committed fraud. You will also have to give a 2 year history for where you have been living. Don’t commit fraud.
