foreclosure hoa fees

Do i have to pay for HOA fees 2 months after my home sold in foreclosure auction?
ok so in Dec of 2010 my home sold in auction due to foreclosure. Yesterday (2 months later) i get a bill from the HOA for 1388.00 for all the fees due and legal fees and lien fees. I called and am trying to settel with them like 2-300 dollars. They were very nice and willing to try to work with me. My Co-Worker says since the home has sold and i am not living in it that i am no longer responsible for paying? Is he correct? Can they do anything since it has been 2 months since it sold and i am not the owner?
Tell them to get stuffed. You only owe the HOA up to the date of the foreclosure auction. You are not the owner after that.
