foreclosure hoa lien

What can an HOA do about non-payment when home is in foreclosure?

I know they attempt a lien on the property- but if going into foreclosure- how much further do they go- collections? Or does an HOA typically stop at the lien of the property?

They’ll usually stop at the lien, but since they’re all run differently: who’s to say?

It would make more sense for them to waive the lien in an attempt to keep the house out of foreclosure (after all; which hurts their precious “property values” more?), but common sense is often lacking amongst HOAs.
