Foreclosure proceedings, how long does this take?
Hi, we have been waiting many months for our lender to accept a short-sale offer, still waiting….Today received a letter that they will initiate foreclosure proceedings as of 2-19. Does this mean we have to move by the 19th, or that we have the 30 days after the 19th.

It depends on the laws of your state. Some processes take a few weeks, others can take several months. I would contact them again about the short sale. It’s really not in their best interest to start the foreclosure process if there is a chance for a short sale. Sounds like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
