I can’t say how proud I am that we are going to be giving even more money to people that bought more house than they could afford with 0 down, and ARM mortgages with bad credit. Not sure why the regular public doesn’t start rioting over our tax dollars being wasted. Foreclosures need to work themselves out without intervention

A BIG part of the reason that people bought more house than they could afford with terrible mortgage terms is because the banks LET them. The banks are just as much to blame – they offered people these mortgages, and the people assumed that since the bank offered it, that it meant they could handle it. Yes, the people should have known they couldn’t afford those loans, but the banks shouldn’t have offered them to people who couldn’t handle them. That’s why mortgage qualifications are so much harder to get now.
