Do you think America’s overall Standard of Living has dropped?

According to the NBC Nightly News last night America’s Standard of Living has dropped over the last 3 years for the first time since the Great Depression. They cited the over 9% unemployment rate, the home foreclosures, the drop in America’s credit rating among other things. Do you think this is just panic or is it true?

Hi Mike. I might not say standard, and in that sense many still feel some reason to carry on, but the issue, in my opinion beyond the technology stuff which I don’t care about at all, is the quality of life is slipping by percentage points, and in larger numbers than at any time since 1929. I think, what I think, not so much based on the media, though they might be a leading source of info some abide by, but in the actuals one can see every day, in those you listed and more.

We outsource far more than manufacturing.
I speak with call centers often and ask, “Where are you located?” Hardly any in this country.
Our govt bails out big business because our govt buffalos us into believing it has to be done.
We print money, which in essence is worth no more than a few sheets of TP
We make treaties, sign pacts and contracts with countries who will at some point claim to no longer be third world nations, and that is from our assistance pretty much.
We are, in my opinion, no longer a country OF, BY, and FOR, the people.
